It’s a sigh of relief for Linux users as Google announces its beta version that runs on Linux. Google Desktop for Linux works with both the GNOME and KDE graphical desktop environments.
Google Desktop is a desktop search engine that provides full text search for emails, files, photos, music, chats, Gmail and webpage they view online or offline. It also helps finding deleted files and older files. One good thing is for programmer because it does search for source code and information in PDF, PS, man and info document files.
The Quick search is the fastest way of searching your web and desktop. It displays the top results instantly by jus typing few letters or words.
The software can be downloaded from www.desktop.google.com
