In case of Vista and an older machine with XP it almost takes 30 seconds for the PC to boot up plus another minute for the Windows operating system to boot. The reason why we speak about this is because sometimes you need to reboot Windows say new software is installed where you don’t need to restart the BIOS. Normally the reboot happens for both which is technically called “cold boot” rather that “warm boot”.
Now we have a trick that works on both Vista and XP in order to get a “warm boot” thus by saving 30 seconds per cycle.
How do we do it?
Hold the SHIFT key when invoking the restart.
Windows Vista: Select Start, and then hover over the right arrow that is to the right of the padlock icon until the pop-up menu appears that contains “restart” as one of its choices. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on the “restart” choice.
Windows XP: Select Start. Select “Shut Down…” Change the drop-down combo box under “What do you want the computer to do?” to “Restart”. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on the “OK” button.

The other day one of my friend showed me and interesting piece of free software and it’s called IP Messenger.
IP Messenger allows you to send messages via the IP number of computers within designated blocks of addresses. If you own thousands of IPs, you can send messages to thousands of computers. This product is only designed for use within your IP scope allocated to your corporation.

It’s free and can be downloaded from www.ipmsg.org

Google plans improve its privacy plans by shortening the cookie time in your computer before it expires.
The search engines and most of the websites use cookies to save the settings stored in their client machine or server. This usually includes preferences you set when visited it last time like filter to adult content and. This news as always has been published in Google’s official blog.
“After listening to feedback from our users and from privacy advocates,” wrote Peter Fleischer, Google’s Global Privacy Counsel, “we’ve concluded that it would be a good thing for privacy to significantly shorten the lifetime of our cookies — as long as we could find a way to do so without artificially forcing users to re-enter their basic preferences at arbitrary points in time. And this is why we’re announcing a new cookie policy.”
Google will be sending cookies in the day to come where the cookies will be set to auto-expire after 2 years. Regular user will have their cookies renewed regularly.
